Job Description
The responsibilities of this position include management of a team of Technical Specialists and QA Auditors supporting an established DOE QA Program.  The candidate will be responsible for performing regulatory analysis and providing sound advice and guidance to ensure WIPP Program participants are compliant with regulatory requirements associated with all aspects of WIPP site operations and TRU waste generators activities.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science and ten years of applicable experience implementing an ASME NQA-1 based quality assurance program and a minimum of three years previous supervisory or leadership experience in a technical field.  The candidate must have excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
 
The qualified candidate must also possess a good working knowledge of DOE CBFO procedures and program documents, Quality Assurance Program Document, Waste Analysis Program, Waste Acceptance Criteria, and TRAMPAC and have demonstrated leadership/ supervisory skills that include scheduling and managing  staff.  Evaluating and assisting with mentoring and performance improvement.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens and will be required to pass a drug and alcohol screening.  Some travel will also be required.

Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1-1989, DOE Order 414.1, and 10 CFR 830.120 requirements

Working knowledge of the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit.

Working knowledge of the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria.

Working knowledge in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requirements.
