Job Description

North Wind Portage, a CIRI company, is seeking a Business Manager/Project Controller in Luckey OH.


Responsible for supporting the Project Manager with project schedule updates, reviewing and coding invoices, developing Work Variance Notifications / Change Orders and writing technical basis with supporting cost estimates.  Experience working on cost-reimbursable government contracts.  This professional will report directly to the Project Manager.   


  • Utilize Primavera (P6) to update the project schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Collect and incorporate into the project schedule all contractor and subcontractor activities. 
  • Support development of a resource-loaded & time-phased schedule and maintaining.
  • Reviewer of vendor payable invoices; coordinate with project team to validate, verify and approve vendor invoices.
  • Verify invoices are properly keyed to purchase requisitions / purchase orders.
  • Resolves any discrepancies / issues with received invoices to prevent delays.
  • Verify vendor invoices have been processed and paid. 
  • Support preparation of the monthly project invoices to client with direct support from Project Controls, Accounting and Finance reviewing the invoice for accuracy.
  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of forecast and budgets.


  • Possess both the basic and advanced level ORACLE training for Primavera.
  • 5 years of construction and/or remediation project experience.
  • CQCSM training – Current
  • HAZWOPER Training – Current
  • 30-Hour OSHA Safety Training – Current

    Experience and Competencies:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Have experience using P6 and/or Microsoft Project building schedules for remediation projects on a cost-reimbursable government contract in excess of $15M dollars annually.
  • Experienced building resource-loaded and time-phased schedules.
  • Experienced writing Work Variance Notices / Change Orders.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to write technical position papers involving environmental remediation, water management and waste disposal of HTRW sites.
  • Experience with USACE projects and/or DOE.
  • Minimum of 3 years receiving, coding and managing vendor invoices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with procurement of safety and quality items to include receipt inspections. 
  • Experience work around heavy equipment, excavations, underground utility removal and water management.
  • Experience work around Waste Water Treatment Systems and onsite water management.
