Internships - TRU Waste Processing Center



FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Job Status: Internship – Temporary Full time

Internship areas available:

  • Information Technology
  • Quality Assurance
  • Radiation Control
  • Training
  • Environmental

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

These positions will provide support to a variety of departments based on the Intern’s skills, knowledge and education interests.  Work will consist mainly of office work with some field work as business need dictates.

Qualifications

Education: Some college, must be actively enrolled in a two or four year degree program.  Major should be in one of the following areas: Information Technology, Quality Assurance, Environmental Science, Radiological Control program, Training or Adult Education.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Information Technology Intern
    • understanding or working experience in hardware components and active directory.
    • Ability to write for multiple audiences
  • Quality Assurance Intern
    • understanding or working experience of basic design principles, measurement and testing according to specifications.
  • Radiation Control Technician Intern –
    • understanding or working experience of basic radiation fundamentals, physics, industrial hygiene or other workplace occupational safety skills
  • Environmental Intern –
    • Understanding or working experience in basic RCRA fundamentals and regulations
  • Training Intern
    • experience in writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition
    • Experience with document layout, formatting and design
    • Strong computer and word processing skills, including:
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint
      • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat DC

 

Computer Skills:  Microsoft Office, Internet Navigation

Work Environment:  Office setting. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
