Job Description

North Wind Group is seekinga Junior Project Control Specialist for a potential job opening. The generalscope of this position is to:

1) Assist Senior ProjectControl Specialists and Project Managers (PMs) and the project team ineffectively and proactively managing projects to ensure      project success.

2) Assist in the development,maintenance, and execution complex project performance baselines. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Building a cost andschedule performance baseline which includes well defined; scope, assumptions,deliverables, Work Breakdown Structure, and        integrated critical path schedulethat is resource loaded.

 • Establishing Earned Value Management System(EVMS) performance standards and controls based on the defined project planningstrategy.

• Interfacing with standardcompany business systems (Primavera P6 scheduling, Deltek Costpoint costaccounting system, NWG Dashboard, etc.).

• Supporting PMs in managingprocurement actions (accruals, invoicing, and costing).

• Formulating effectivecommunications and reporting requirements (as defined by the PM, Corporatepolicy, and customer requirements) that define      the current status of a projectin relation to the project performance baseline, reasons for deviation, andassisting with implementing corrective            action plans.

• Developing accurateEstimate At Completion for detailed project completion costs and performingmonthly project fee analyses.

• Seeking continuousimprovement and enhancements of current project management methodologies.

• Assisting the proposaldevelopment team

• Working as an integralpart of a team to review business opportunities, conduct risk evaluations andbid/no-bid decisions.

• Coordinate and lead thepreparation of complete estimates for assigned projects.

• Review and incorporatehistorical data.

• Ensure all workingdocuments and data are maintained to help back up estimate figures for the costestimating team.

• Help determine necessaryresources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. •Estimate and/or price extra work items,              change orders, credit, etc.

• Work closely with otherdepartments to ensure proper resources included in estimates.

•Be involved in project planning sessions and team meetings to provideestimating input.

·        4 Yeareducational degree (preferred)

·        2 years ofdemonstrated Project Controls/Cost Estimating experience. Must possess superiororal and written communication.

·        Familiar withProject Controls EVMS processes and project management software's such asPrimavera P6 and Deltek Costpoint.

·        Experienced inall facets of Cost Estimating, including developing detailed cost estimates andBOEs using Code of Accounts to develop a cost history database that is companyspecific and performing cost modeling for large projects.
