Job Description

North Wind Construction Services, a CIRI Company, is seeking a full-time Project Engineer for support of construction projects in the Southeast U.S. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Support a wide range of construction, environmental and demolition projects in the Southeast. Primary responsibilities will be to manage all aspects of the construction, and engineering projects (e.g. technical, financial, and scheduling). Candidate must be willing to commit to a long-term presence at the project site. Will coordinate with client and regulatory project stakeholders with development and implementation of project strategies and provide mentorship to junior level staff in the areas of project planning, execution, and management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all field engineering aspects of construction projects for federal and state government, and commercial clients.
  • Responsible for configuration management of project documents
  • Organize and lead project teams in the successful completion of project tasks.
  • Participate in field efforts as needed to support the successful execution of projects.
  • Manage all aspects of construction, engineering and environmental projects (e.g. technical, financial, and scheduling).
  • Ability to manage projects with extensive customer contact.
  • Ability to plan, direct and manage program activities; report potential or actual issues including identifying, developing and managing scope related proposals and risk mitigation plans.
  • Able to manage all aspects of field subcontracts
  • Analyzing project needs and establishing appropriate project priorities.
  • Analyzing and evaluating technical environmental and construction data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or science related field and 10 years relevant experience.

 

knowledge and experience

  • Should have significant experience with earned value reporting and baseline management.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of field experience in construction areas.
  • Previous experience on large scale DOE, DoD and other federal agencies’ projects
  • Should have experience working with applicable DOE/DoD regulations.
  • Must have strong field subcontract management experience

  • Ability to tightly manage schedules and budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, and clients, as well as outside business associates.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond effectively and sensitively to questions from clients, managers, staff and the general public.
  • Ability to utilize multiple word-processing and database applications including MS Office applications Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow procedures and schedules, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent proof-reading and writing skills.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential client and employee information.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and make decisions, solve problems, exercise good judgment, work under pressure, and capable of prioritizing workload.
