Job Description
North Wind Group is currently seeking a Help Desk Technician in Knoxville, TN!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Help Desk Technician provides help desk support to North Wind staff for all hardware, software, and telecom needs. This position will perform as part of a dedicated and customer focused IT team to ensure that all end user needs are fulfilled. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides phone and desk-side oversight for the timely resolution of technical issues.
  • escalates more complex issues to Tier 2 for resolution. Issues are to be fully documented in Jira ticketing system.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes solutions with users and communicates estimated resolutions times.
Qualifications
COMPUTER SKILLS:

Knowledge of desktop and server operating systems and software, including Microsoft Windows 7&10, Windows 2008 Server, Windows Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2016/O365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint. Knowledge of local area net-working, wide area networking, and other computer related technologies. Knowledge of computer installation, maintenance, and software support to perform computer troubleshooting. 

GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Well developed oral and written communication skills

  • Functions effectively in a team environment
  • meets task and project deadlines under stressful situations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk to hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office setting- the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 


EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree or special training in IT is preferred. 

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
