Job Description
North Wind Resource Consulting, LLC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst I with 1-2 years’ experience to support a project out at Fort Huachuca, AZ. The position requires onsite support so working remotely is not possible. Applicants must also be a U.S. Citizen either by birth or naturalization.

The selected individual will need map making skills, analytical capabilities and the ability to understand the clients basic needs with the ability to understand how best to show data. In addition, strong data management capabilities including SQL & Access databases with the ability to integrate data into pre-defined schemas, digest large amounts of data efficiently, interact with various personnel and having strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. Software skills require proficiency with ESRI Arc Suite products and include ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, basic scripting (Python, VB Script, etc.) and application development capabilities. Part of the job will include data acquisition and processing using GPS technology. Candidates must be comfortable using GPS equipment and data to meet the project goals.
Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field.
Must be able to pass a background check for access to government computer systems.

Required Skills:

Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, Access.
Proficiency with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various mapping languages.
Experience with mapping tools such as ESRI.
Experience with GPS measuring tools.
Outstanding quantitative skill set.
Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
Analytical mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Good interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

The candidate must also demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to complete projects independently and/or in small teams in a responsible and timely manner. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, environmental or natural resources as well as knowledge, understanding, and experience using GIS software to manipulate, convert, analyze, and map geospatial data.

Typical work tasks include updating data, attending meetings, facilitating mapping requests, reporting on metrics, & communication with PM’s on progress. Most of the work will be performed in the office with travel being 10% or less. This opportunity affords excellent experience and diverse applications working in GIS.
