Job Responsibilities
North Wind Resource Consulting is currently seeking a Pesticide Applicator to support activities on our Environmental Services Contract for the Patrick Air Force Base/Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Job purpose

To provide support at Patrick Air force Base (PAFB) and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Malabar Tracking Annex (MTA), and Jonathan Dickinson Missile Tracking Annex (JDMTA) for the application of pesticides and other natural resource work as assigned at these facilities.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Accurate identification of invasive and exotic plant species;
  • Application of pesticide (herbicide) for the purposes of invasive plant species treatment and eradication;
  • Cutting and hauling smaller vegetation;
  • Ability to drive company vehicles to include trucks, ATVs, tractors used to access and apply pesticides;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to thrive as a member of a functional team.
  • Other tasks deemed necessary and as needed.



Qualifications include:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent


  •  AAS in Environmental Technology or related field




  • Valid Florida Driver’s license
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a department of defense badging to access facilities.


  • State Pesticide Application certifications in Natural Areas and Right-of-way.
    • If not certified then must obtain these certifications within 30 days of hiring.




Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.


Computer Skills


  • Ability to use software programs for timekeeping and communicating with NWRC Corporate Office.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances in outdoor conditions
  • Visual ability (uncorrected or corrected) to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles at a distance of 30 yards and to verify written information at a close range.
  • Work may be performed within extreme temperature ranges.
  • Work may require the use of hand and power tools.
