Job Description

The Transportation Specialist’s duties for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to the operations department.
  • Support internal and external correspondence, presentations, and reports.
  • Tracking and scheduling the container maintenance for all shipping containers.
  • Tracking, maintaining and closing work orders that pertain to shipping containers.
  • Being the designated, approved DOT shipper for the project.
  • Coordinating the required paperwork and notifications to Union Pacific Railroad
  • Tracking and scheduling the required maintenance on the train rails.
  • Tracking and scheduling the required maintenance on the rail cars
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate professionally, effectively, and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone, and in writing. Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple task assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • The ability to learn project specific computer programs (ie. managers plus) as well as Union Pacific programs.
  • Ability to read and comply with project direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required DOT required training.
  • Ability to read and comply with all DOT regulations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • May be required to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, pending demand.
  • Experience on UMTRA type projects is desirable.
