Job Description
North Wind Construction Services, a CIRI company, is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to support projects in the Morgantown, WV area.


Preparing and reviewing drawings, specifications, and other design related documents to support project work and proposal development,
Performing and reviewing analyses, calculations, modeling and simulation of civil/structural/geotechnical systems/components/materials,
Providing support to various projects requiring design and analysis of concrete/asphalt, soils, stream restoration, wastewater treatment and other civil engineering applications,
Providing support in the development of design requirements, alternatives analysis, equipment selection/sizing, drawings, etc.,
Performing or overseeing surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, elevations and volumes to guide construction/remediation projects and design,
Using design software to plan, design and/or bid projects associated with transportation, water systems, civil projects, and/or structures,
Managing the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure,
Analyzing survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects,
Evaluating architectural, structural, and mechanical plans for design, feasibility, safety and adherence to building codes and other municipal and government regulations,
Considering construction costs, regulations, potential hazards, and other factors in planning and risk analysis,
Reviewing and interpreting of geotechnical investigation reports, laboratory testing, and analyses to aid in design or plan and support construction/remediation projects,
Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations,
Assist on proposal efforts with specifications, technical approaches, and component sourcing/costs, and
Develop technical reports as required to support construction/remediation projects.

Education: College Degree

Required Skills:
Accredited four (4) year degree (BS) in civil engineering or civil engineering technology,
3-8 years of position-related experience,
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
Strong verbal and technical writing communication skills.
Ability/willingness to travel (25 – 50%).
Desired Skills:
Training in OSHA Hazwoper, Construction Safety and First Aid/CPR is a plus.
Professional certification as an EIT or PE license is highly desirable.
Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, STAAD or other engineering software is a plus.
Experience working with Federal and State entities is a plus.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
Experience and ability to in work environments with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
Motivated and willing to work as part of a team and perform multiple job functions.
