Job Description

North Wind Construction Services, LLC is currently looking for an Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental Manager to work in Titusville, Florida.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Maintains and promotes a safe and healthy environment by identifying and anticipating concerns and hazards. Develops and enforces policies and procedures that comply with OSHA and executes North Wind’s health and safety programs. Functions as the safety manager by developing and carrying out procedures that comply with OSHA regulations and effectively control accident and health exposures and insures adherence to environmental regulations. Devises, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety awareness. Assists in examining new job safety analyses, safety plans and specifications for new work processes or equipment to determine that all safety precautions have been included. Investigate incidents and accidents to insure corrective action is taken to eliminate the root cause of the safety hazard.


 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Superior organizational abilities.
• Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment essential.
• PC-based computing experience (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) essential.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
 • Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
 • Ability to perform repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, wrists and arms.
 • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Flexibility in working different work schedules. Ability to travel and with short notice.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
 • The SSHO will have a minimum of seven (7) years experience in the implementation of OSH/IH programs with at least three (3) years of experience on NASA Projects.

SECURITY ACCESS REQUIREMENTS:
Must be cleared for Kennedy Space Center badge

DESIRABLE SKILLS:
NASA Share Point experience NASA safety and environmental experience

SPECIAL SKILLS OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
OSHA 40 HR HAZWOPER OSHA 10 HR Construction Environmental Training
