Job Description

North Wind Resource Consulting, LLC is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst II with 2-5 years’ experience to support projects out of our Washington, D.C. office. Typical work tasks include updating data, teaching training courses, attending meetings, facilitating mapping requests, reporting on metrics, & communication with PM’s on progress.  Most of the work will be performed in the office with travel being 25% or less.  This opportunity affords excellent experience and diverse applications working in GIS.  



This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in either GIS, Environmental or Natural Resources as well as knowledge, understanding, and experience using GIS software to manipulate, convert, analyze, and map geospatial data. Masters degree can be substituted for experience. 

The selected individual will need map advanced making skills with the ability to understand the clients basic needs and the ability to critically think about how best to show data.  In addition, strong data management capabilities with the ability to integrate data into pre-defined schemas, digest large amounts of data efficiently, interact with multiple agencies and having strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.  Software skills require proficiency with ESRI Arc Suite products and include ArcGISPro, ArcMap, eGIS Portal applications and basic scripting (Python, VB Script, etc.) capabilities. 

The candidate must also demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to complete projects independently and/or in small teams in a responsible and timely manner. 

This position requires onsite support, so working remotely is not possible.  Applicants must also be a U.S. Citizen either by birth or naturalization.  In addition, they must pass a government background investigation to gain clearance to access potentially sensitive data.
