North Wind Solutions is currently seeking Security Specialist to support work under our Joint Staff contract in Suffolk, VA.

Job Responsibilities


  • Support Personnel Security Program activities by reviewing new policies or changes to existing policies and providing recommendations, comments, and drafts of administrative security policies, procedures, and/or directives that support the JSSO-HR in development and implementation of higher level policies.


  • Review JS policy on a monthly basis and make recommendations for changes or improvements. Support JSSO-HR in development, implementation, and modification of Government-approved policies, procedures, and directives.


  • Support Joint Staff personnel in implementing JS policies by responding to queries and providing procedural expertise.


  • Modify security database entries as necessary.


  • Review as necessary new civilian hire packages by validating position description clearance eligibility requirement with current JPAS eligibility.


  • Load data into the Security Database for all owned, serviced, or visiting personnel as required.


  • Processing Form 166.


  • Resolve access eligibility issues when a visitor does not appear to have the requisite clearance and access to support a classified visit and administrative staff is unable to resolve an access issue.


  • Download visit requests initiated through JPAS into the Security Database as required. Prepare outgoing visit request messages via the Multi-Media Message Traffic (M-3), JPAS, JSSO-HR Portal form, fax or e-mail.


  • Provide professional customer service.


  • Issue Visitor Passes. 


Job Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance 

  • BA/BS Degree or 8 years of related experience required.

  • Must be proficient in all MS Office Suites.

  • Must have working knowledge of US Government Security Programs.
