Job Description

The IT Director of Infrastructures responsibilities can include, but not limited to:

  • The IT Director of Infrastructure Operations responsibilities can include, but not limited to:

    • Inspire and lead cross functional teams who collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to ensure high functioning operations of multi-faceted IT infrastructure.
    • Supervises the application build/configuration process.
    • Build and lead personnel by creating team plans and guaranteeing they are completed; maintaining team atmosphere; provide training and development budgets; overseeing the performance management program with opportunities and feedback on skill performance.
    • Maintain collaborative working relationships with internal teams, business partners and vendors to design and deliver solutions and resolutions related to infrastructure.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts; documenting all work and deliverables; and monitoring vendor activity to ensure obligations are met.
    • Ensure highly available operating environments utilizing secured on premise, hosted, SaaS, PaaS and cloud platforms.
    • Lead projects by utilizing adopted department methods, developing, and maintaining a project charter, project plan, and status report; managing all needs for assigned projects; identifying team members, measurements, and resource needs; and executing project plans and progress.
    • Maintain accurate system and network procedures and documentation for standards, assets, circuits, inventories, security configurations, audit controls, etc.
    • Oversee the installation, provisioning, and data protection of existing systems and networks including configuration of hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Ensure standards are followed including those provided by security, audit, and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery/business continuity plan. Work with IT leaders to test and ensure an actionable recovery.
    • Maintain a strong working knowledge of technologies, architectures, and systems relevant to operations.
    • Lead critical troubleshooting efforts and provide direction for issues in conjunction with vendors and infrastructure environments.
    • Develop and maintain security and assess control on systems and networks in collaboration with Security team to deliver projects, incident management needs and monitoring.
    • Evaluate current infrastructure investments and drive efficiencies for performance and financials.

    This position is contingent upon contract award.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or similar degree preferred. or professional work equivalent
  • Must have DOE Q might also need DOD TS Security Clearance.
  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure (platforms, network, security)
  • 7+ years of managerial experience
  • Knowledge of technologies and languages in Operational platform knowledge, but not limited to: Linux, Unix, VMWare, Microsoft Server, Amazon Web Services, NetApp, Cisco LAN/WAN/wireless/US
  • Experience with data center operations, communications, and disaster recovery
  • Understanding of hardware scalability, high availability, risk mitigation and methods of implementing IT infrastructure.
  • Enterprise project management and contract management experience
  • Experience in defining and monitoring KPIs
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate to all levels of talent
  • Solid problem-solving and conflict management skills
