Job Description

Performs all human resources functions including policy administration, compensation planning, employee relations and benefits administration.  Assist with recruiting and selection processes, including all gathering relevant data for EEO reports, etc.  May occasionally assist the labor relations staff with union related activities. Works under minimal supervision and handles significant confidential information. Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with various human resources plans and procedures for all project personnel.
  • Assist with administration of the total compensation program.
  • Assist with project benefits administration, enrollment, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Assist with recruiting for exempt and nonexempt personnel, conducts new-employee orientations, writes, and places job advertisements.
  • Assists with employee relations counseling and outplacement counseling.
  • Preparing or updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating
  • Ensuring new hire paperwork is completed and processed
  • Informing job applicants of job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, promotion opportunities, etc
  • Processing all personnel action requests and ensuring proper approval
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Explaining human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
  • Helps to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrates awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting co-workers of such requirements as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to get along with co-workers, customers, and visitors.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
  • May assist the Labor Relations Director and/or Specialist with administrative duties as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
This position is contingent upon contract award. 

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of human resources experience, OR
  • A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and at least 2 years of experience in human resources, OR
  • At least 7 years of experience in human resources, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of various employment laws and practices. 
  • Familiar with labor relations and union environment
  • Must be proficient with general computer use, e-mail, electronic calendars, word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a DOE “L” clearance.
