Job Description
North Wind Resource Consulting is looking for Archaeological Field Technicians to participate in cultural resources surveys throughout Idaho. Duties will include:

• Perform pedestrian surveys in austere environments
• Ensures that data collected is accurate, organized, and of high quality
• Demonstrates the ability to accurately identify prehistoric and historic-period artifacts and features
• Ability to photograph field work and complete field forms
• Records sites to the particular agencies’ stipulations and guidelines
• Work well with crew members and maintain a high level of communication
• Crew members may be required to operate a Garmin or Trimble GPS handheld units
• Performs survey duties professionally and safely
• Crew members may be required to camp
Degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or a closely related field.
Previous experience in archaeological survey is highly preferred.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.


Previous experience participating in cultural resource surveys.
First Aid and CPR
Experience with handheld GPS units and computer tablets.

*Position will require extensive physical exertion, such as walking up to 10 hours a day in outdoor, uneven, rough terrain, with heat/cold stress conditions. Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment; potential contact with poisonous plants, venomous insects and animals. Individual must be able to conduct these tasks while wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment.
