Job Description
North Wind Services is seeking a Safety Specialist for a long-term full time position at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  We supply supplemental labor personnel for the laboratory.  The safety specialist oversees the safe work performance of approximately 500 workers supporting Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Safety (LLNS).  Work includes providing new hire orientation, ergonomic evaluations, evaluation of work controls, incident investigation, and general safety and health evaluation of the workplace.
This is a senior position and requires:
  • Four year degree
  • 20 years of experience preferred, with at least ten years at a DOE site performing work according to 10CFR831, 10CFR835, Integrated Safety Management, Documented Safety Analyses, DOE Orders, and other applicable regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office hazards including ergonomics and methods to prevent office related injuries.
