Job Description
The Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of all field activities related to the physical construction. The superintendent must control all aspects of the project site to achieve the final product, quality, and schedule. The superintendent is the direct point of contact for safety and enforcement of all safety regulations and policies. Advanced electrical installation, troubleshooting, construction and maintenance skills; thorough knowledge of electrical codes, and safe use of power tools and trade hand tools; specification review and analysis, submittals; take offs; obtaining quotes from suppliers  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Generates, secures, or otherwise confirms all information needed to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis
Gives input regarding project estimates for future work
Develops the progress schedule with the Project Manager or Operations Manager
Participates in scope reviews of the various bid packages to properly coordinate their respective interfaces and ensure nothing has been missed  
Works with the Project Manager to develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, security arrangements, and other facilities and arrangements necessary for appropriate service to the construction effort
Identifies field-construction and work-sequence considerations when finalizing bid package purchases
Monitors actual versus required performance by all parties
Complete oversight of all subcontractors ensuring workforce size, hours worked, etc. is sufficient to support contract requirements
Establishes a punch list and close-out procedures list
Ensures all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, and changes are processed on time and comply with contract requirements
Prepares daily reports, job diaries, narratives, and all other documentation as determined by the company and by the project needs
Enforces all regulatory, base and company specific safety rules
Performs job site inspections for both quality and safety
Must be able to work in a high-volume environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally and courteously with all levels of personnel.
Good organizational and follow-up skills and be detailed oriented.  Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Good oral and written communications skills including 
Ability to work under strict deadlines.
Education Required: High School diploma or GED Equivalent; must hold a valid State Electrical Journeyman’s license
Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Experience: Possess at least ten (10) years’ experience employed with a general contractor, with at least six (6) years of service dedicated to the execution of construction projects.  A combination of experience and education that demonstrates the required skills, knowledge, and abilities will be considered. Four (4) years of experience with integrated systems, as well as experience in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems. Experience in controls and special systems to include fire alarm is preferred.  Power generation experience preferred.  Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Experience on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Projects preferred.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
OSHA 30 hour, preferred, but not required
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferred, but not required
Gathers all information necessary to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing bases
Identifies field-construction and work-sequence considerations when finalizing bid package purchases
Enforces all regulatory, base and company specific safety rules
Significant experience with earned value reporting and baseline management
Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow procedures and schedules, and prioritize multiple tasks
Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Projects) 
Ability to work in a team environment and fit in with company culture and processes 
Effective professional oral and written communication skills
Must possess a strong work ethic and values that are above-reproach 
Strong organizational, interpersonal skills

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.  The position will include prolonged periods of sitting in order to perform administrative duties.

The position will require work to be performed indoors and outdoors. The employee will be exposed to various weather conditions. Other hazards include, but are not limited to working near heavy equipment, noise hazards, chemicals, cleaning products, asbestos, lead based paint, contaminated soils and road traffic.
